STRAIGHT FROM THE FOX'S MOUTH

The Top Ten Exercises for Shaping Up Your Life in 2015

Getting into the best "shape" of your life can mean so much more than anything a diet or gym can fix. What about "shaping up" in all the important aspects of daily life? Here are my top ten "fitness" tips for the year ahead:

1. First, decide what a tip-top life looks like for you. Write it down. Put your pictures of that ideal life on a bulletin board or dream board. Put reminders everywhere. Put messages on everything. Then, put your mind to work on what your vision is.

2.  Lose the fat. Cut out anything that doesn't contribute positively to your mental and emotional well-being. If it drains you and depletes you of joy and excitement, then it needs to be evaluated, calculated, and probably eliminated.

3.  Make new and better choices. Decide what needs to be done to elevate your life to a "healthier" status. Make the small changes constantly. Tackle and make the bigger changes with wisdom, and strategically. Think through every move you make. Ask yourself if it's helping you get to a better place or not. If it's not, don't do it.

4.  Create new routines. The same old thing is never going to bring you a new result. If you want some new opportunities, new happenings or new people in your life, you will have to create new routines, new places to go, and new environments to socialize and do business in. It's that simple.

5.  Do it anyway. You may not feel like disciplining yourself to do all this, but get over yourself and push through the tougher days. It is amazing how you feel when you go ahead and do something that you thought you couldn't. You'll feel energized and empowered almost immediately.

6.  Change "exercises" when you need to. When you get it together in one area, work on the next area that you want to see tightened up. You paid off your bills. Maybe now you can start planning for that dream vacation, new home or business.

7.  Increase your workouts. Do more to reach your goals than you did the prior month. Put a few more minutes of time and effort into your 2015 projects as you go. You will surprise yourself when you see how much you can get done in thirty minutes, an hour or a day. Each effort takes you another step toward your finish line.

8.  Check yourself. Is it working? Take a look at things and see if it is really paying off for you. Do you see results? Do you see your work manifesting into the vision of your future? Checkpoints are necessary. They let you know when to move forward, slow down, reassess, or stop and change the plan.

9.  Praise yourself. Everyday give yourself credit for wanting a better life for yourself. Even if you do only a little thing each day, you deserve the acknowledgement that comes with that. Tell yourself that you are doing a fabulous job, and continue to enjoy your bold, new journey.

10. Stick to it. It's only January, but before you know it, it will be that time when we start looking at resolutions again. Stick to your guns. This December you'll be excited and not frustrated that you're having to rewrite the same goals over again. Stick with your ideal plan, and at this year's end you will have a truly incredible YOU to celebrate!
